The rule is simple: you pay for numbers that receive a message. If no SMS arrives, you get the full price back.
One-time orders
| What happened | Refund |
|---|---|
| You cancelled before any SMS arrived | Full, immediately |
| No SMS arrived within 20 minutes | Full, automatically |
| We couldn't assign a number | Full, automatically |
| An SMS arrived — any message counts | None |
Once a message arrives the number has done its job, so the order isn't refundable — even if the service later rejects the code, the code expires on their side, or the message wasn't the one you wanted.
Refunds go back to your passcode.sh balance and appear in your ledger as a separate refund line pointing at the order. Each order is refunded at most once: retries, double-clicks and network hiccups can't refund — or charge — an order twice.
Rentals
| What happened | Refund |
|---|---|
| You cancelled within 10 minutes of renting, before any SMS arrived | Full |
| You cancelled later, or after any SMS arrived | None |
| The rental reached its end date | Nothing to refund — it simply ends |
Auto-renewals are charged at the start of each new period and follow the same rule: the refund window counts from when the rental first started, so a renewed rental isn't refundable. See Auto-renew, expiry and cancelling.
Tip
Not sure an order will work? Watch it for a minute or two. You can cancel at any moment before a message arrives.
