In the web app

  1. Open Rentals.
  2. Choose a period — 7, 30 or 90 days — and a country. Prices are shown per country for the period you pick.
  3. Decide whether to turn on auto-renew. You can change it later.
  4. Confirm. The price is taken from your balance and the number is yours immediately.

The rental starts the moment you confirm and ends exactly 7, 30 or 90 days later, unless it auto-renews.

With the API

  • POST /api/v1/rentals rents a number for a country and period.
  • GET /api/v1/rentals lists your rentals.
  • GET /api/v1/rentals/{id}/messages reads a rental's inbox.

The API docs have the full request and response formats.

Note

You can start up to 10 rentals per minute. Beyond that, requests get rate_limited (HTTP 429) until the minute is up.

If it doesn't work out

If no SMS has arrived yet, you can cancel within 10 minutes of renting for a full refund. After that — or once anything arrives — cancelling ends the rental without a refund. See Auto-renew, expiry and cancelling.
